DR. CORNELIA K. MUGANDA

Dr. Cornelia K. Muganda holds a PhD in Education from Massey University (New Zealand), MEd. Administration from University of Toronto (Canada), and a BA with Education from the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). Currently, Dr Muganda is a Senior Lecturer at the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) undertaking teaching, research and consultancy. Dr. Muganda has extensive experience in education as a secondary school teacher, a tutor of adult learners and extramural students, a senior education administrator and a lecture. At the Open University of Tanzania she has also undertaken leadership responsibilities as a Director of the Institute of Continuing Education; President of OUT Convocation, Coordinator of Commonwealth Youth Development work (CYP) Diploma; Coordinator of Gender and HIV/AIDS activities at OUT. Dr. Muganda is also among the champions of OERs development and use in Tanzania: She is a country Coordinator of Teacher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa (TESSA) and has undertaken a lead in the integration of OERs in the Diploma in Primary Education Programme (the first in Tanzania) of the OUT. Dr. Muganda has authored and co-authored articles in refereed journals, study materials, chapters in books, research reports and OERs. Her Areas of academic interest include: education and development; open and distance learning; education policy and management and comparative education.
